The day starts early for Lars, our enthusiastic Installation Engineer. Today’s schedule is full of variety, just the way he likes it. After a cup of coffee, he heads into the production hall. “The best part of my job is that I get to work both in production and directly with customers,” he explains.
Running production and building platformsThe morning is fully dedicated to producing our own PlateButler product line. Together with his colleagues, Lars carefully assembles the different components, from PlateHotels to PlateCruisers, with precision. Each product is thoroughly tested during quality control before being safely stored for delivery or installation.
After a brief kick-off meeting for a new project, Lars dives right back onto the shop floor. He continues working on one of the platforms currently under construction. The deadline is tight: the FAT is scheduled for next week, which means everything must not only be ready, but also fully tested. “It’s always amazing to see how separate components come together into a complete, perfectly working system,” he says with visible enthusiasm.
Preparing for customer installationAfter a short break, Lars starts preparing for an installation scheduled later this week, this time for an international customer. He carefully compiles a checklist of tools, spare parts, and extra items that might be needed on site. Everything is neatly packed and prepared for shipping, ensuring it arrives on time. “Preparation is key,” Lars explains. “Especially for a project abroad, you can’t afford to forget anything. Everything has to run smoothly, because going back to pick something up simply isn’t an option.”
Heading out to the customerAfter a late lunch, it’s time to hit the road. Today, Lars is also visiting a customer who already has a PlateButler platform installed but requires additional equipment. It’s a great opportunity to further optimize the system. “This is when you can really make a difference for the customer,” he says. “Thanks to the flexibility of our platforms, we can easily integrate new equipment and fine-tune the system to match the customer’s exact needs. That’s the real added value of what we do, adapting to the situation and ensuring the customer can move forward right away.”
On site, he connects the new modules, tests the protocols, and makes sure everything integrates seamlessly with the existing setup. “Customer interaction is one of the best parts of my job. You see the results of your efforts immediately.”
A rewarding end to the dayBy late afternoon, Lars drives back to the office. On the way, he gives a quick update about the installation over the phone, and then the workday is done. “It’s very rewarding to know the customer is satisfied and everything is working perfectly. Tomorrow brings a new challenge and I’m already looking forward to it.”
